The review has been long awaited by many. The review focuses on reforming children's social care based on feedback about the system being currently 'broken'. Updates can be gained from the website Home - The Independent Review of Children's Social Care (independent-review.uk) and anyone can register for email updates. In October 2021 a summary was provided about the views of care experienced children & young people. The summary provides some very important messages that we should all take on board.

The Care Experienced Conference was the first ever conference for people of all ages from the care experienced community. There are 10 key messages that summarise the day and they are critical to inform positive changes within social care. The Vision's inspection framework and ethos is underpinned by these messages. Ofsted send surveys to care experienced children living in a wide range of different types of homes to gather their feedback about their experiences. The survey also requests feedback from a range of adults who care for care experienced children and the children's family members.

In 2021, the surveys were open between 1 February and 28 March. 49,113 individual responses were received, 7,011 of which were from children. The full summary of the feedback can be located here:
